Querydrill

Level 2: Aggregation Exercise 14 of 60 Pro

Spend per customer

An SQL exercise from Querydrill. Solve it with a SQL editor in your browser, checked on the rows it returns and again on changed data, and it is checked the moment you submit.

The task

For each customer_id, return the customer_id and the total amount of their paid orders. Customers without paid orders do not appear.

What this exercise teaches

WHERE runs before GROUP BY, so it decides which rows get aggregated.

A hint if you get stuck

Filter with WHERE before grouping, then SUM(amount).
