Querydrill

Level 4: Advanced Exercise 43 of 60 Pro

Big spenders

An SQL exercise from Querydrill. Solve it with a SQL editor in your browser, checked on the rows it returns and again on changed data, and it is checked the moment you submit.

The task

Calculate each customer's total paid spend, then return the names of customers whose total is above the average of those totals. Only customers with at least one paid order count in the average.

What this exercise teaches

A CTE names an intermediate result so the query reads top to bottom.

A hint if you get stuck

Put the per-customer totals in a WITH clause, then compare each total to AVG(total) from it.
