Running revenue total
An SQL exercise from Querydrill. Solve it with a SQL editor in your browser, checked on the rows it returns and again on changed data, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
For every paid order, return the order id and the running total of paid revenue, ordered by order date and then by id.
What this exercise teaches
A SUM with an ORDER BY inside OVER gives a cumulative total.
A hint if you get stuck
SUM(amount) OVER (ORDER BY ...) accumulates as the rows go by. Filter paid orders with WHERE.
